Not gonna lie, Chicago ain't exactly stacked with real castles, no cap on that one. But between calls I been hunting down every turret, tower, and fortress-lookin building this city's got hidden in it. Pulled from all corners, Loop to the South Side to way up north. Half these spots you can just walk up on, for real. Grab tacos after, I got you covered within six blocks of most of these.

Chicago Water TowerThis the OG, everybody already knows it but it still hits different in person. Castle-style water tower that didn't burn down in 1871, no cap on that one.806 N Michigan AveChicagoSurvived the Great Fire, that's wild
Rosehill Cemetery GatehouseSame architect as the Water Tower built this gatehouse, limestone and turrets and the whole deal. It's a cemetery entrance but it reads full medieval fortress, for real.5800 N Ravenswood AveChicagoGothic stonework, zero crowds
Eighth Regiment ArmoryFirst armory in the country built for a Black regiment, now it's a high school. Heavy stone facade, looks like it could survive a siege no cap on that one.3533 S Giles AveChicagoCastle-style armory with deep history
Park Castle CondominiumsRight across from Indian Boundary Park, this building's got actual turrets and towers like somebody wanted to live in a keep. Open House Chicago always features it.2470 W Lunt AveChicagoTurrets on an apartment building, c'mon now
W.W. Kimball HouseBuilt for a piano magnate in full French chateau style, limestone and steep roofs and all that. Prairie Avenue's got a few of these old money houses, this the standout.1801 S Prairie AveChicagoChateau-style mansion, Prairie Avenue gem
