Ten bottles I actually keep buying, mostly from shops I can walk to with a tote bag and a grudge against the Mets. Listen, I'm not a sommelier, I'm a woman with a porch, good light till about 7, and strong opinions about what pairs with a stack of library books. These are the ones that earn a second glass.

Kings County Wines house red pickKings County Wines1205 Cortelyou Rd, Brooklyn, NY 11218BrooklynFive minutes from my stoop, which is the whole reason I'm loyal. The staff doesn't make you feel dumb for asking what 'skin contact' means.
A cru Beaujolais from Flatbush Discount LiquorsFlatbush Discount Liquors1023 Flatbush Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11226BrooklynDon't let the name fool you, there's real stuff in the back. Slight chill on this one, porch rail, done.
An orange wine from The Gilded GrapeThe Gilded Grape190 Beverley Rd, Brooklyn, NY 11218BrooklynLittle shop, big opinions, in a good way. Orange wine confuses half my tenants and I love that for them.
A dry sherry from John's Brothers LiquorJohn's Brothers Liquor1424 Cortelyou Rd, Brooklyn, NY 11218BrooklynNobody asks for sherry anymore, which is exactly why I do. Cuts the grease off a good piece of fried chicken.
A cava from Newkirk Station Liquors & WinesNewkirk Station Liquors & Wines1502 Cortelyou Rd, Brooklyn, NY 11226BrooklynCheap enough that I don't flinch popping it on a random Tuesday. That's the whole point of bubbles, honestly.
