Comes with the job, facilities manager sees behind the curtain of every hotel he walks into, and that ruins some of them fast. These are the ones that still hold up, through Dublin's eyes and through a tradesman's eye for a boiler room. Did my rounds on this list the way the Dubs do their warm-up, thorough and no shortcuts.

The Croke Park HotelJones' Road, Dublin D03 E5Y8DublinAcross the road from headquarters, where else would I start. Check in, drop the bag, and you can hear the roar from the room on big days.
Maldron Hotel Croke ParkClonliffe Road, Dublin D03 X6K3DublinFive minutes from Drumcondra station and five minutes from home for me. Handy for match day, handier for the walk back after.
Maldron Hotel Parnell SquareParnell Square West, Rotunda, Dublin D01 HX02DublinFront rooms get you the parade on Paddy's Day without leaving the bed. Solid plant room too, I've had a nose.
The Gresham Hotel23 Upper O'Connell Street, Dublin 1DublinOlder than the GAA itself near enough. Grand old building, a bit of ceremony to it, like walking into Croke Park before they covered the Hill.
The Marker HotelGrand Canal Square, Docklands, Dublin 2, D02 CK38DublinFancy as you like, rooftop bar and all. Not my usual pint spot but the view does the talking for it.
The Morgan Hotel10-12 Fleet Street, Temple Bar, Dublin D02 AT86DublinRight in among it in Temple Bar, which is either a selling point or a warning depending on your Saturday night plans. Rooms are quieter than you'd expect.
