Mix of sports, holiday stuff, and the occasional excuse to leave the Loop before dark. Bring layers, it's Chicago.

1Chicago Bears vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers	Bears SNF matchup at Soldier Field	Near South Side	Sunday Night Football downtown-adjacent, bar crowd's gonna be UNREAL. Bring a coat, obviously.
2Chicago Bears vs New Orleans Saints	Bears home game vs Saints	Near South Side	Noon kickoff means I'm grabbing brats before the L even gets crowded.
3Blackhawks Centennial Game vs Maple Leafs	Blackhawks 100th anniversary game	Near West Side	100 years of the Hawks, nationally televised. Even my Cubs-brain coworkers are hyped for this one.
4Christkindlmarket Wrigleyville	Holiday market at Gallagher Way	Lakeview	Smaller than downtown but it's got ice skating next to the actual Friendly Confines. Worth the Red Line trip.
5Wintrust Magnificent Mile Lights Festival	Lights festival and parade on Michigan Ave	Near North Side	Crowds are no joke but the parade's free and kids go nuts for it. Dress warm, duh.
6St. Lucia Festival of Lights	Candlelit Swedish heritage procession	Andersonville	Low-key one of my favorite nights all year, Andersonville does this one right.
7ZooLights at Lincoln Park Zoo	Holiday light display at the zoo	Lincoln Park	Free, it's the zoo, it's lit up like a Christmas movie. Can't go wrong.
8Joffrey Ballet's The Nutcracker	Classic holiday ballet performance	Loop	Not usually my scene but the Lyric Opera House alone is worth the ticket price.
9Chicago New Year's Eve Fireworks at Navy Pier	NYE fireworks show over the lake	Streeterville	Cold as hell but watching fireworks off the pier never gets old. Classic Chicago send-off to the year.
