Galleries worth a wander

Okay so I am NOT an art person by training (I spend my days telling runners to please stop googling their knee pain) but somewhere along the way these became my Saturday thing!! Usually with a coffee in hand and zero plan, just wandering into whatever door looks interesting. Half of these I found because a patient mentioned them mid-stretch, the other half because I got lost in SoWa and refused to admit it. Saving them here before I forget the names AGAIN (it happens every single time, I'm sorry, gallery owners).

1Institute of Contemporary ArtSeaport25 Harbor Shore Dr, Boston, MA 02210BostonContemporary art, rotating exhibitionsA big day out, harbor views includedI go here when I want to feel fancy for an afternoon! The water views genuinely almost make me cry a little, don't tell anyone.
2Gallery NAGABack Bay67 Newbury Street, Boston, MA 02116BostonContemporary painting, studio furnitureHistory nerds (it's in an old chapel!!)It's literally inside a 19th century church and I think about that every time I'm there. Peak Boston weirdness, love it.
3Howard Yezerski GallerySouth End (SoWa)460 Harrison Ave, Boston, MA 02118BostonContemporary painting and photographyFirst Fridays wanderingThis one always has something that stops me in my tracks. I've almost bought art here, which for a PT's budget is a big statement.
4Boston Sculptors GallerySouth End (SoWa)486 Harrison Avenue, Boston, MA 02118BostonMember-run sculpture exhibitionsThree-dimensional things you want to touch (don't, obviously)As someone obsessed with how bodies move, sculpture just hits different for me. I always leave wanting to redo my posture.
