Right, so THE ROOKIE is finally back (season 9, Jan 6, with a spin-off NORTH riding shotgun straight after — two hours of Nathan Fillion being a wholesome disaster, lads) and apparently half of Dublin is still arguing about the Chenford cliffhanger. I refuse to doom-scroll about it alone, so here's where I'm parking myself with a pint and a laptop propped against the ketchup until January. Not sponsored, just thirsty (for plot AND a stout).

NameTickSpotWhy I go here
1The Long HallThe Long Hall, 51 South Great George's Street, Dublin 2Victorian, dim, and absolutely nobody bothers you here. Perfect for quietly fuming about Tim and Lucy's kidnapping cliffhanger over a Guinness.
2The Palace BarThe Palace Bar, 21 Fleet Street, Dublin 2Got a proper snug where you can hide with your phone and refresh for Rookie: North casting news without anyone judging you (they're judging you).
3The Stag's Head——
4The Stag's HeadThe Stag's Head, 1 Dame Court, Dublin 2Victorian tiles, mirrors, the lot — makes waiting out the January premiere feel vaguely glamorous instead of just sad.
5Chapters BookstoreChapters Bookstore, 73 Parnell Street, Dublin 1Secondhand crime and detective paperbacks to tide me over — think of it as cross-training for the LAPD energy coming back in January.
6The CeltThe Celt, 81-82 Talbot Street, Dublin 1Trad session nights if the Rookie wait gets too long and I need actual live entertainment instead of fictional LAPD drama.
7Vicar StreetVicar Street, 58-59 Thomas Street, Dublin 8Not Rookie related at all, but it's where I'll be distracting myself with a gig on the actual premiere night if I can't get it streaming on time.
