Nikon's been all over the news this week after their Small World in Motion contest winner got turfed out for using AI on the quiet. Proper mess, that. Got me thinking about the actual gear though, the stuff you hold in your hand and trust to just work, no funny business. Thirty years in engineering teaches you to rate a well-made tool when you see one, and these are the Nikon bits I'd point a mate towards without any hesitation. No AI shortcuts here, just glass and metal doing what they're built for.

Nikon kit I'd actually buy — 2 items
Name	Tick	Product	Type	Price Range	My take
11Nikon MB-N11 Battery Grip Nikon MB-N11 Battery Grip	Camera accessory	£300 - £350	Makes a long day of shooting far less of a chore. Saves your hand cramping up.
12Nikon Eclipse Ei microscope Nikon Eclipse Ei	Microscope	Contact retailer for pricing	Proper bit of kit for anyone peering at the tiny stuff, which Nikon's had plenty of bother over lately. Honest gear though, no AI needed.
