A transport nerd's confession: I care more about how things move than what they cost. This is my running list of London spots where the cars themselves are the whole show, from a Routemaster in a museum hangar to a Bugatti behind glass in Mayfair. Assembled between meetings, on the Overground, occasionally with a gin in hand.

Technically buses and tube trains, not cars, but the horse-drawn omnibus to Routemaster timeline is basically the Overground of my heart. Go on a weekday, it's dead quiet.
Yes it's a train ride out past the M25, but the old banked racetrack still gives me chills like a last-minute winner at the Emirates. Bring proper shoes.
Biker and hot-rod meet-ups most weekends, right by the North Circular. Greasy spoon energy with genuinely gorgeous machinery parked outside, no ticket required.
Window shopping for cars I'll never afford, on the same square where the nightingale allegedly sang. Very good for pretending you're just passing through.
