Little running list of places I end up when there’s a game on and I really should be doing readings. Bit of everything in here: actual temples of football, cricket churches, and pubs where the TV count is frankly worrying. If you’re bouncing round town with a Travelcard and poor impulse control, this is basically my brain on a Saturday tbh.

Proper loud for league games, and on NFL weekends it turns into mini‑America with jerseys, wings and people trying to explain downs
3Wembley Stadium	National stadium	Wembley Stadium, Olympic Way, Wembley HA9 0WS	London	Wembley Park (Jubilee / Metropolitan)	Big national‑feel vibes: England games, cup finals, random mega concerts, the lot. The walk up Olympic Way when it’s heaving is unreal, even if the food prices feel like an economics case study in suffering.
4Lord’s Cricket Ground	Cricket ground	St John’s Wood Road, London NW8 8QN	London	St John’s Wood (Jubilee)	Posh on paper, but once you’re actually in the stands with a plastic pint and someone explaining field settings, it’s just very chill. Perfect exam‑season escape: five hours of sunshine and gentle applause instead of revising elasticity.
