These are the places I mentally map out during a rough night in the unit. The big tertiary beasts, the scrappy community workhorses out in Hialeah, the kid places, the vet place, the eye folks who can somehow still make you feel human after a 14‑hour shift. None of this is "ranked"—they just each catch a different kind of falling body. Anyway... if you work around here, you probably know half these hallways already.
Clean lines, academic brain, lots of white coats moving fast. When we need subspecialty input for our sickest, somebody here has a fellow or an attending who lives and breathes that exact problem. Good place to send puzzling zebras.
Out west on Kendall, but feels like its own city. Polished, efficient, very systems-driven. When families tell me they’re heading to Baptist, I picture solid med-surg backstops and a NICU that knows exactly what they’re doing.
When the little ones crash, this is where everyone exhales a bit once transport rolls out. Pure pediatrics, top to bottom, and you feel that focus when you call report—no one flinches at complexity, they just start asking the right questions.
