Here’s my actual rotation when I’m in full sports goblin mode. Sometimes I want history, sometimes I want 47 TVs, sometimes I just want to scream about xG in a dark corner while someone spills Coors Light on my sneakers. This is where I end up when the Sox are on, the C’s are stressing me out, or it’s 7 a.m. and some World Cup group-stage chaos is happening across the ocean.

Fenway ParkFenwayRed Sox baseball, playoff nervesYou’re watching the actual field plus concourse monitorsGet in early, lap Jersey Street, grab sausage and keep walkingLifers, families, tourists taking 900 photos of the Monster$$$4 Jersey St, Boston, MA 02215Boston, MAFeels like stepping into a history book that also overcharges you for beer. Still worth it every single time.
Cask ’n FlagonFenway / KenmorePre- and post-Sox, other big national gamesBig bar TVs, solid angles even if you’re stuck in backSlide in a couple innings before first pitch for one drink and people-watchingOut-of-towners, loud friend groups, a few regulars clinging to their stools$$62 Brookline Ave, Boston, MA 02215Boston, MAYes it’s touristy. Yes I still end up here, talking myself into one more basket of fries like it’s a personality trait.
Game On!FenwayEverything Boston, plus ping pong and batting cage chaosTVs in every direction, basement level feels like a control roomDuck downstairs, grab a high-top, pretend you’re not about to scream at the bullpenYoung crowd, pregame crews, random bachelor/ette parties$$82 Lansdowne St, Boston, MA 02215Boston, MAComes off a little fratty, but when the game’s tight and the whole bar pops at once, it’s pure serotonin.
Banners Kitchen & TapWest End / TD GardenBruins and Celtics, plus national events on the monster screenThat giant LED wall that makes you feel like you’re inside the broadcastGrab a seat facing the big screen and give up on checking your phone ever againAfter-work crews, jersey families, folks flexing their season tickets$$$82 Causeway St, Boston, MA 02114Boston, MAData-nerd heaven. Feels like watching from inside a spreadsheet with nachos. I mean that as a compliment.
The Phoenix LandingCentral SquareSoccer-first, especially Liverpool and big tournamentsScreens all around the bar; on big matches it feels like mission controlDrag yourself out for early kickoffs and crush a full Irish while your brain wakes upSupporters’ groups, expats, serious football brains, random students$$512 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge, MA 02139Cambridge, MAWhen the place is packed for a World Cup game, it’s louder than half the actual stadiums. I bring earplugs and zero regrets.
