Not a whisky bar list, this is just the bottles I keep going back to like a reliable holding midfielder. Ranked less scientifically than my club's xG model but with more conviction. ABV, price and vibe check included for the fellow nerds.

2Woodford Reserve	Woodford Reserve	Woodford Reserve Distillery, Kentucky	43.2%	£32-£36	Smooth operator, plays it safe on the wing. Good for guests who say they 'don't really do whisky'.
3Maker's Mark	Maker's Mark	Maker's Mark Distillery, Kentucky	45%	£30-£34	Red wax top gets more comments than the bourbon itself. Wheated and gentle, like a false nine nobody feared.
4Four Roses Single Barrel	Four Roses Single Barrel	Four Roses Distillery, Kentucky	50%	£38-£42	Spicier and more interesting than the standard yellow label. Comes off the bench and changes the game.
5Bulleit Bourbon	Bulleit Bourbon	Bulleit Distilling Co, Kentucky	45%	£26-£30	High rye content, so it bites a bit. The Kalvin Phillips of bourbons: high energy, always closing down space.
6Elijah Craig Small Batch	Elijah Craig Small Batch	Heaven Hill Distillery, Kentucky	47%	£32-£36	Underrated value pick, punches above its price point. The League One team that should really be higher up.
7Knob Creek	Knob Creek	Jim Beam Distillery, Kentucky	50%	£34-£38	Nine years in the barrel and it shows. Proper heavyweight, oaky and confident like a captain who's seen it all.
8Old Forester 1920	Old Forester 1920	Old Forester Distillery, Kentucky	57.5%	£55-£62	Cask strength, no water added, no apologies. This is the VAR check that always goes against you but you respect it.
