This is less a list and more a map of my stomach. Eleven spots I keep returning to on slow mornings between gallery walls and the second Friday crowds (the murals on 16th Street always smell like somebody's grill is going somewhere nearby, which should tell you everything). My taqueria table is marked below, obviously, and I will fight you gently over the carnitas.

1Taqueria Los Comales	3014 W 59th St	Chicago	This is my standing table, the one with the wobbly leg I've learned to respect. Order the al pastor, watch the trompo spin, try not to fill up on chips first (I always fail).
2Carnitas Uruapan	1725 W 18th St	Chicago	Carnitas since 1975, which is longer than most relationships I know of. Get the mixta plate and share nothing.
35 Rabanitos	1758 W 18th St	Chicago	A menu so long it borders on overwhelming, but the pork rib taco has never once let me down (I've tried to be disloyal and failed every time).
