These are the spots I actually drag myself to when the sports itch hits—ballparks, fields, and a few bars that don’t make me want to move to Jersey. Mostly Queens and Brooklyn with some Manhattan mixed in, because even a Ridgewood lifer’s gotta cross a bridge sometimes. Bring cash for beers, patience for crowds, and if you see a guy muttering about the ‘86 Mets while quoting old Bogart flicks, that’s probably me.

Rest of the year you can actually hear the ball and pretend you’ve got a halfway decent backhand.
3Madison Square Garden	Indoor arena	4 Pennsylvania Plaza, New York, NY 10001	Midtown	New York, NY	Yeah it’s corporate as hell, but when the Knicks or Rangers are rolling and the whole place is yelling, it’s still the Mecca. Even the nosebleeds feel big-time.
