Warhammer 40,000 Commander decks are suddenly back in the spotlight because Wizards is doing a fresh reprint run and every half-forgotten precon is crawling out of longboxes onto buy lists again. So this is the little inventory I keep in my head (and, fine, in a spreadsheet) of which 40K things actually earn space in my tiny Boston apartment and which ones mostly live rent‑free in my daydreams instead. Think of it as a train-ride monologue about cardboard armies, from someone who alphabetizes museum wall labels for a living and still can’t resist a well-organized chaos god.

Warhammer 40,000 Commander decks — 3 items
Name	Type	Faction focus	Color identity	Highlight card	Original release year	Reprint buzz	Best for	Price vibe	My take
1Forces of the Imperium Commander Deck	Commander preconstructed deck	Imperium of Man	White-Blue-Black (Esper)	Inquisitor Greyfax	2022	High; people want another shot at the full sealed deck.	Players who like token armies and feeling like they’re running the whole galaxy bureaucracy.	Used to be pricey; reprint talk has everyone cautiously hopeful.	Plays like a very stern museum guard: polite, controlling, and somehow always in exactly the right place to ruin someone’s fun.
2Necron Dynasties Commander Deck	Commander preconstructed deck	Necrons	Mono-Black	Szarekh, the Silent King	2022	Everyone’s watching this one; mono-black artifact fans have been circling it for years.	Graveyard enjoyers and people who want their board state to look like a sci‑fi archaeology exhibit.	The priciest of the bunch; a reprint feels like the only way I ever double-sleeve it without guilt.	If my job is preserving old things, this deck is what happens when the old things wake up and start preserving you instead.
3Forces of the Imperium Collector’s Edition	Collector’s Edition commander deck	Imperium of Man	White-Blue-Black (Esper)	Foil Surge treatment on key Imperium legends	2022	Less certain; even the rumor of more copies has collectors nervously checking binders.	Display-case gamers and people who bring playmats that match their deck’s aesthetic.	Museum-piece level; feels like something I should accession, not shuffle.	Looks like it belongs in a glass vitrine with a little plaque that reads, “On loan from someone luckier than you.”
