Grounds worth the walk

Every GAA man has his own geography of the city and this is mine — built up over decades of season tickets, dodgy knees on terrace steps, and far too many chip shop queues after league games nobody remembers the score of. Some of these are cathedrals, some are glorified sheds with a stand, but they've all earned their spot. Ranked less by prestige, more by whether I'd go back on a wet Tuesday in February.

1Croke ParkJones Road, Dublin 3, D03 P6K7DublinGaelic football & hurlingHeadquarters of the whole operation. Hill 16 roaring on All-Ireland day beats any cathedral I've been dragged to for a wedding.
2Parnell ParkClancarthy Road, Donnycarney, Dublin 5, D05 DT66DublinGaelic football & hurlingThe Dubs' real home ground. Smaller, meaner, no frills — league nights here feel more honest than Croker ever will.
3O'Toole ParkRobert Emmet Road, Crumlin, Dublin 12DublinGaelic football & hurlingCounty finals venue with proper atmosphere. Bring a flask, the stand roof only covers half your luck.
