Blackpool F.C. and the Dublin angle

Blackpool F.C. are trending after beating Aston Villa U21s 3-2 in the EFL Trophy this week, which got me down a wormhole about why a Lancashire seaside club keeps popping up on Dublin radars. Turns out the name itself is basically a straight translation of Dubh Linn, there's a long thread of Irish internationals who've worn the tangerine, and this city has more than one spot to catch League One football without crossing the Irish Sea. No tidy ending here, just the facts and a few pints' worth of opinions.
