This isn't a bucket list, it's a rotation. Twelve spots in and around the city where I've actually sat, stood, or yelled — ranked by vibe, not by banners. I catch for a rec league team on Tuesdays so don't ask me about my knees, and don't ask me to pick between the Yankees and Mets bar either, I'll just pour you something and change the subject.

NameAddressCityMy Take
Madison Square Garden4 Pennsylvania PlazaNew York, NYLoudest room in the city when the Knicks get hot. Rare, but worth the wait, like decanting.
Barclays Center620 Atlantic AvenueBrooklyn, NYHome team, home borough. I'm contractually obligated to love it, but I actually do.
Yankee Stadium1 E 161st StBronx, NYStill get chills walking up the ramp. Pricey beer, worth it, like a good Barolo.
Maimonides Park1904 Surf AvenueBrooklyn, NYCheap tickets, ocean breeze, fireworks after. Minor league baseball is the house wine of sports.
Citi Field41 Seaver WayQueens, NYI show up for the Shake Shack line and stay for the baseball, don't tell my Mets friends that order.
Prospect Park95 Prospect Park WestBrooklyn, NYMy actual rec league warms up here. Loop's 3.35 miles, catcher's gear stays home for that part.
McCarren Park776 Lorimer StBrooklyn, NYSunday league chaos, dogs off-leash, somebody's always grilling past the foul line.
Forest Hills Stadium1 Tennis PlQueens, NYOld tennis bones, great acoustics, feels like watching sports in a church that got good speakers.
