2Night & Day Café	Night & Day Café	26 Oldham Street	Manchester	Unsigned bands, early-career gigs	Seen some shocking support acts here and a couple of belters. Risk you take. Pint's reasonable too.
3The Deaf Institute	The Deaf Institute	135 Grosvenor Street	Manchester	Mid-size touring acts, roof terrace pints	Three floors, sightlines decent, roof terrace for when the band's rubbish and you need air.
