Quantity surveyor by trade, so I've measured most of these pubs for snug-fit on a Tuesday when the board game group's running late. Twelve spots I keep going back to, from the Chorlton locals I can stagger home from to the Northern Quarter ones that cost me a tram fare and some dignity. No cocktails with sparklers in them. Mostly beer, occasionally regret.

1The Marble Arch73 Rochdale RoadManchesterAncoats / CollyhurstMarble PintYes, if you nab the back roomModerateSloping floor's not the beer talking, it's actually the building. Worth the trek from Chorlton once a season.

3Dulcimer567 Wilbraham RoadManchesterChorltonPint of mild, feeling braveYesRarely rowdyQuiz night regularly humbles me. The pies help with the shame.
