1Manchester Art GalleryCity CentreMosley StreetManchesterPre-Raphaelite room makes me want to go full detail-obsessive for a week — 8/10 (the staircases alone deserve a sketch).
2HOMEFirst Street2 Tony Wilson PlaceManchesterFree galleries upstairs, cinema downstairs, sketchbook always comes out — 8/10, loses points only cos the café queue eats my lunch break.
3The WhitworthOxford Road / Whitworth ParkOxford RoadManchesterThe glass extension makes the trees part of the art — sat on a bench here for two hours once just drawing the light. 9/10, bring a jumper.
4Paradise WorksRiverside, SalfordEast Philip StreetSalfordStudios upstairs, exhibitions down — proper working-artist energy, never feels precious. 8/10, trek's worth it.
