I work next to Fenway, I quiz at bars within stumbling distance of it, and I have strong opinions about every venue in this city that sells beer and shows a scoreboard. This is the rotation — where I go when the Sox win, when they lose (same bar, more complaining), and where I actually sit when I need to watch hockey without selling a kidney for the ticket. JP people, we're allowed to love Fenway even though it's a trek from home, don't @ me.

Fenway ParkBaseball (Red Sox)Fenway4 Jersey StreetBoston, MAA proper game day, Green Monster seats if you can swing itMortgage payment for good seats, still worth itOldest park in the league and you can feel it creak (affectionately). Bring cash for the sausage guy outside.
TD GardenHockey (Bruins) / Basketball (Celtics)West End100 Legends WayBoston, MABanner-counting, since there are approximately nine million of themSpendy, especially for playoffsSits right on top of North Station so you can sprint for your train the second the final buzzer goes. I've done it in heels.
The Bleacher BarBaseball viewingFenway82A Lansdowne StreetBoston, MAWatching the field through the garage-door window without buying a ticketNormal bar prices, line is the real costTechnically inside the park walls, which feels like cheating in the best way. Get there before first pitch or you're standing.
Sweet Caroline's at FenwayBaseball viewingFenway100 Brookline AvenueBoston, MAPregame chaos and the actual song playing nonstopMid, worth it for the atmosphereIf you want to feel the pregame energy without paying stadium prices, this does it. Loud. Extremely loud.
The Greatest BarMulti-sport viewingWest End262 Friend StreetBoston, MAPre-Garden-game drinks, giant screens everywhereMid to spendy on game nightsThree floors of screens so you never lose the game even mid-bathroom-line. Also doubles as my trivia backup when my usual spot is booked.
Warrior Ice ArenaHockey (Bruins practice facility)Brighton90 Guest StreetBoston, MAFree practice viewing, way more casual than a gameFree to watch most practicesNobody tells you the Bruins practice here and it's open to the public. Cheapest hockey fix in the city, hands down.
Harvard StadiumCollege football / trackAllston95 North Harvard StreetBoston, MAA cheap Saturday afternoon and genuinely gorgeous old-school architectureCheap tickets, sometimes freeConcrete horseshoe from 1903 that still hosts games. Bleacher seats, bring a flask (discreetly, I don't make the rules).
Banners Kitchen & TapMulti-sport viewingNorth End / Seaport100 Canal StreetBoston, MAWalking distance to the Garden with way shorter linesMidMy go-to when the Garden crowd floods Causeway and I want a seat that doesn't require elbowing a stranger.
The Baseball TavernBaseball viewingFenway1270 Boylston StreetBoston, MAClassic sports bar grub plus a view of the parkMidRooftop deck basically overlooks Fenway. Underrated wing selection for a place this close to a stadium.
Clery'sMulti-sport viewingSouth End113 Dartmouth StreetBoston, MAA proper bar to actually watch a game without a stadium-adjacent markupReasonableNot trying to be flashy, just screens and decent beer, which is honestly all I want most Sundays.
