I spend most of my free time trying not to think about quarterly filings, and yet I keep voluntarily boarding the 7:04 out of Brookfield to watch other people run around for money. These are the Chicago sports spots I keep going back to anyway. Some for actual games, some for watch parties, some just for an excuse to drink bourbon out of a plastic cup and pretend my back doesn’t hurt from Metra seats.

1Wrigley FieldWrigleyville / LakeviewBaseballChicago CubsApril–September, plus the occasional miracle OctoberDay games that somehow turn into night games1060 W Addison St, Chicago, IL 60613ChicagoTourist trap, cramped seats, overpriced beer. I keep going anyway, which probably says more about me than the team.
2United CenterNear West SideBasketball / HockeyChicago Bulls, Chicago BlackhawksOctober–April, then concerts to fill the emotional voidLoud intros, nostalgia, and checking ticket prices against your life choices1901 W Madison St, Chicago, IL 60612ChicagoFeels like an airport terminal that accidentally hosted six championships. Sightlines are great. My credit card bill is less great.
3Rate FieldBridgeportBaseballChicago White SoxApril–September, with bonus rain delaysCheap(er) tickets, decent food, actually seeing the skyline333 W 35th St, Chicago, IL 60616ChicagoNaming rights aside, it’s weirdly comfortable. Wide concourses, good concessions, and enough empty seats that even I feel like an optimist.

You either freeze, bake, or get rained on. I keep buying tickets like the outcome will change.
