When I’m not being bleeped every seven minutes in Whitechapel, I go and look at other people’s bad days preserved in glass. These are the places I end up when I want medicine without the crash bleep, a half-decent coffee nearby, and a reminder that however grim my on-calls get, at least nobody is sawing a leg off without anaesthetic. Think of it as continuing professional development with better lighting. Triage complete: all worth a visit; some best taken with a strong espresso first.
