When I’m not staring at discounted cash flows or pretending I understand xG models, I’m here, over-invested in fictional people. This is the stuff that survived my ruthless ‘three-episode rule’ and absolutely wrecked my thesis on using weekends to “rest and reset”. Think of it as my concentrated TV portfolio: a bit of prestige, a bit of chaos, zero filler. DYOR, obviously, but these are the ones I’d rebinge instead of sleep.

Name	Genre	First aired	Where I watched	Commitment level	My take
Succession	Drama, dark comedy	2018	HBO / Sky Atlantic / streaming	High – 4 seasons, you’ll want to binge	Basically a hostile takeover of your free time. If you like boardrooms, backstabbing and awful rich people, it’s pure joy.
The Bear	Drama	2022	FX / Hulu / streaming	Medium – short, intense episodes	Stress in TV form. Kitchen chaos, family baggage, and somehow you end up emotional over sandwiches.
Better Call Saul	Crime drama	2015	AMC / Netflix / streaming	Very high – 6 seasons, slow burn	Starts as a spin-off, ends as a thesis on consequence. Feels like watching a car crash in ultra slow motion, in a good way.
The Wire	Crime drama	2002	HBO / streaming	High – 5 dense seasons	Feels less like a show and more like a very long, very good annual report on a broken city.
Mad Men	Period drama	2007	AMC / streaming	High – 7 seasons, slow and stylish	Gorgeous, melancholic, and full of people making terrible life choices in great suits. Pace is glacial but it compounds nicely.
Dark	Sci‑fi, mystery	2017	Netflix	Medium-high – 3 seasons, brain-melting	Time travel plus family trees plus subtitles. You’ll need a diagram, but the payoff is unreal.
Line of Duty	Police thriller	2012	BBC / streaming	Medium-high – 6 seasons, very bingeable	Interrogation scenes that feel more intense than some Champions League finals. “Mother of God” indeed.
Taskmaster	Comedy, game show	2015	Channel 4 / streaming	Low-medium – many seasons, easy to dip in	Zero plot, maximum serotonin. Grown adults failing at stupid tasks is a surprisingly strong stress hedge.
Atlanta	Comedy-drama, surreal	2016	FX / streaming	Medium – 4 short seasons	Starts as a music hustle story, drifts into dream logic. Not every episode lands, but the ones that do really stay with you.
The Last of Us	Post-apocalyptic drama	2023	HBO / Sky Atlantic / streaming	Low (for now) – 1 season	Zombie-adjacent but emotionally expensive. Episode 3 alone justified the entire watch.
