Look, I basically live in a triangle between North Station, Fenway, and the Seaport. My weeks are just different routes to different screens. Some nights it’s nosebleeds at the Garden, some nights it’s a burger at a bar that cares as much about the zone defense as the fry oil. This is my current rotation of spots when I want the game to feel like an event, not just background noise on a random TV. Think of it as my playbook: eight places, each with a specific situation where they’re the right call.

TD GardenArena100 Legends Way, Boston, MA 02114Boston, MABruins or Celtics home playoff game, any roundThis is the big boss level. Regular season’s fun, but when the towels are waving and they dim the lights for intros, it feels like you loaded up a save file from the ’80s and ’08 at the same time. Yes, the beer is pricey. No, I do not care when it’s a one
Fenway ParkBallpark4 Jersey Street, Boston, MA 02215Boston, MASummer Red Sox night game, preferably against the YankeesFenway’s like reading an old Bill James abstract in real time: weird angles, quirky dimensions, and a ton of history baked into every pitch. You don’t come here for Wi‑Fi and legroom, you come here to sweat through a July ninth inning with 37,000 people w
Banners Kitchen & TapSports bar / restaurant82 Causeway Street, Boston, MA 02114Boston, MANFL Sundays or out‑of‑market NBA games with friendsIf ESPN built a lab to optimize screen real estate, it’d look like Banners. Massive board, solid beer list, and food that doesn’t feel like you settled because you wanted a TV. I end up here when I want the data analyst version of a sports bar: clean sigh
Cask ’n FlagonClassic Fenway sports bar62 Brookline Avenue, Boston, MA 02215Boston, MAPre‑ and post‑game for Sox, plus big national baseball gamesCask is basically Fenway’s unofficial bullpen. It’s where you warm up, cool down, and argue about whether that rookie’s BABIP is sustainable. On game days it’s pure chaos in a good way—standing room, jerseys everywhere, TVs blasting. If you don’t like cro
Causeway Restaurant & BarNeighborhood sports bar65 Causeway Street, Boston, MA 02114Boston, MAWeeknight Bruins or Celtics road gamesCauseway is your solid role player—never flashy, always there when you need a bucket. Good pre‑ and post‑Garden move, but it also works when you just want wings, a stool, and a game on without the full circus. Think of it as the Marcus Smart of bars: grit
Hub HallFood hall by the Garden80 Causeway Street, Boston, MA 02114Boston, MAEarly start times or doubleheaders when people want optionsThis is the 12‑man deep roster of food plus screens. You grab ramen, your buddy grabs tacos, someone else shows up with a beer tower, and everyone still sees the game. I use Hub Hall when we’ve got a mixed crowd—some hardcore fans, some just there for the
