Not a syllabus, just the stack that keeps migrating from nightstand to tote bag and back. Some of these I've reread on the T so many times the spine's given up entirely. Filed here between museum shifts and one too many oat milk lattes at whatever quiet corner café will still have me.

Novelas de misterio a las que vuelvo — 8 items
Name	Title	Author	Year	Setting	Length	Best Paired With	Reread Count	My take
1The Talented Mr. Ripley	The Talented Mr. Ripley	Patricia Highsmith	1955	Italy	290 pages	Strong espresso, no snack	4	Rooting for a sociopath and enjoying it a little too much, honestly
2In the Woods	In the Woods	Tana French	2007	Ireland	429 pages	A rainy commute	2	The ending will infuriate you and you'll read the sequel anyway
3The Big Sleep	The Big Sleep	Raymond Chandler	1939	Los Angeles	231 pages	A drink you can't pronounce	5	Plot makes no sense, the sentences don't care, neither do I
4Gone Girl	Gone Girl	Gillian Flynn	2012	Missouri	432 pages	Silence, honestly	1	Once was plenty, but what a once
5The Secret History	The Secret History	Donna Tartt	1992	Vermont	559 pages	A cold Sunday and tea	6	Technically a murder mystery, mostly an excuse to romanticize a sweater
6Mystic River	Mystic River	Dennis Lehane	2001	Boston	401 pages	A walk through your own neighborhood after	3	Local enough that I recognize the bar he means and won't say which
7The Name of the Rose	The Name of the Rose	Umberto Eco	1980	Medieval Italian monastery	536 pages	A quiet reading room, no distractions	2	Half theology lecture, half whodunit, entirely worth the slow start
8Sharp Objects	Sharp Objects	Gillian Flynn	2006	Missouri	254 pages	Nothing sharp nearby, ironically	2	Bleaker than Gone Girl, which is saying something
