Small jazz nights I'll chase anywhere

These are the spots I duck into after a closing shift at the branch, notebook still in my bag and reading glasses pushed up on my head (I tell myself I'm only staying for one set, and then, well, you know how that goes). All North Side within a reasonable train ride, all places where you can hear an actual human being think through a solo. Bring cash for a few of these, and maybe a book for the walk home.
