Ranked by nothing in particular except how many times I've texted someone 'you NEED to hear this band.' Also contains at least one venue I was wrong about on the first visit.

2The Red Room at Cafe 939	The Red Room at Cafe 939	Back Bay	939 Boylston St, Boston, MA 02115	Boston	All-ages, Berklee-run, impossibly good sound for a room that small. I went in skeptical of 'student venue' and left humbled.
3The Sinclair	The Sinclair	Harvard Square	52 Church St, Cambridge, MA 02138	Cambridge	Dinner-and-a-show energy. First time I thought the balcony was overpriced real estate; second time I fought a stranger for that exact seat.
