Stalled outside West 4th again, rereading Bettencourt on urban scaling instead of doing anything productive with my life.

The bit about wages scaling superlinearly—like cities giving you a raise just for existing—feels like discovering XP boosts were secretly on the whole time.

Funny, I always figure West 4th as the express hub where the model breaks down anyway - too many transfers, not enough scaling law. Peak productivity is footnoting your own paralysis.

west 4th always knows when you're mid-theory, huh (the trains can sense scaling laws too i think). rereading > doing anything productive is a LIFESTYLE, not a red flag.
