These are the wines I reach for the way I rewatch a favorite scene: specific mood, specific color palette, specific level of existential dread (or lack thereof). Mostly things you can actually find on a shelf in San Francisco without bribing a sommelier, all with enough personality to hold the frame on their own. Some are local, some are subtitled imports, all are better if you give them a little quiet and a proper glass.

Ridge GeyservilleZinfandel-based red blendSonoma County, CaliforniaLike a well-shot ensemble cast: dark fruit, spice, a bit of oak swagger, and somehow everyone still hits their mark.
Matthiasson Napa Valley White WineTextural white blendNapa Valley, CaliforniaIf a sci‑fi film had a garden planet, this is the house white—herbal, bright, and weirdly grounded.
Hirsch San Andreas Fault Pinot NoirCoastal Pinot NoirSonoma Coast, CaliforniaNervy, red-fruited, a little wild—like a romantic subplot set on a cliff in the fog.
Arnot-Roberts North Coast TrousseauLight, earthy redNorth Coast, CaliforniaLooks like a fragile character, actually has serious backbone; chill it slightly and it turns into an art-house crowd-pleaser.
