When the group chat is 50% “where we watching?” and 50% panic about the Celtics’ half-court offense, this is where I end up. These are the spots where the TVs are big, the pours are honest, and the collective blood pressure spikes in perfect sync. Heavy bias toward places you can duck to from Fenway or the Garden on short notice (sorry in advance, liver).

Game On! FenwayFenway82 Lansdowne St, Boston, MA 02215Boston, MAKenmore (Green Line)Multi-sport, lots of out-of-town gamesTwo floors, massive screens, TVs at every anglePizza and a draft IPABig group watch parties and playoff nightsThis is what happens when a sports bar spec sheet passes QA—screens, sound, and enough space that your whole fantasy league can yell together.
Banners Kitchen & TapWest End / Hub on Causeway82 Causeway St, Boston, MA 02114Boston, MANorth Station (Green/Orange)Celtics, Bruins, and national gamesRidiculous huge LED board plus screens everywhereWings and a rotating draftBig-ticket games where you want the full arena-adjacent experienceLike someone took a jumbotron and built a restaurant around it—perfect for when you couldn’t get Garden tickets but still want that cortisol spike.
Causeway Restaurant & BarWest End / North Station65 Causeway St, Boston, MA 02114Boston, MANorth Station (Green/Orange)NFL Sundays and Bruins/Celtics overflowTVs lined along the bar and wallsFried seafood platter and a lagerPre-game meetups and low-frills Garden nightsNo nonsense, solid pour, and you’re basically a slap shot away from the Garden—feels like the ‘regulars’ option in the North Station skill tree.
The Greatest BarWest End / TD Garden262 Friend St, Boston, MA 02114Boston, MANorth Station (Green/Orange)Patriots, Giants crowds, big national gamesMulti-level with lots of TVs and a big feature screenSimple mixed drink and bar appsRowdy, shoulder-to-shoulder nights when subtlety is cancelledHigh-variance vibes but elite people-watching—come for the game, stay for the sociology experiment unfolding by the DJ booth.
Parlor SportsInman Square1 Beacon St, Somerville, MA 02143Somerville, MAUnion Square (Green Line) or Harvard/Lechmere + walkSoccer, NHL/NBA, niche stuff if you ask nicelyCompact room, great sightlines to multiple TVsCheese curds and a craft beerNerdy sports fans who actually want to watch the tacticsFeels like a grad seminar where the syllabus is Champions League and the required reading is the beer list—my go-to when I care about every possession.
The BansheeDorchester934 Dorchester Ave, Boston, MA 02125Boston, MAJFK/UMass (Red Line)Soccer, especially international and RevsPubs-style layout with TVs covering every angleChicken tenders and a pint of GuinnessEarly-morning matches and international tournamentsIf there’s a ball being kicked on another continent, someone here is yelling about it—peak atmosphere when your circadian rhythm and kickoff time disagree.
Buff’s PubNewton Corner317 Washington St, Newton, MA 02458Newton, MABus from Newton Corner; closest rail: Boston Landing (Framingham/Worcester) + busBruins, Pats, and Boston teamsClassic bar TVs, good sightlines from most tablesHot wings and a cold draftWings-fueled hockey nights away from downtown pricesThe wings have more heat than some Bruins power plays; worth the trek when you want a neighborhood bar that still lives and dies with every rush.
