My running list of SF spots where I either break a sweat, lose my voice yelling at a screen, or both. Think of this as my sports circuit: a little pro arena glam, a little pickup grime, plus a mini golf course that will absolutely humble your short game. If you’re trying to move your body, watch something epic, or just pretend skee-ball is cardio, this is where I’d drag you.

Chase CenterNBA arena / concert venueMission Bay1 Warriors Way, San Francisco, CA 94158San FranciscoShiny, corporate, but electric once the lights go down and the threes start flying.Feels like stepping into a UX case study for crowd flow and impulse snack purchases. Go early, walk Thrive City, and budget time to just gawk at the screens like a tourist.
Oracle ParkMLB ballparkSouth Beach24 Willie Mays Plaza, San Francisco, CA 94107San FranciscoSalty air, garlic fries, and that "I might drop my beer chasing a foul ball" energy.Even if you don’t care about baseball, this is basically a waterfront picnic with occasional dingers. I treat upper-deck strolls as my steps for the day and call it cross-training.
Mission CliffsIndoor climbing gymMission District2295 Harrison Street, San Francisco, CA 94110San FranciscoFive-story walls, chalk dust, and a mix of crushers and nervous first-timers tying in.My go-to when I’m bored of treadmills and need to solve problems with my forearms instead of Figma. Great place to feel strong and then immediately humbled by a 5.10 that looks easy.
Stagecoach GreensOutdoor mini golf courseMission Bay1379 4th Street, San Francisco, CA 94158San FranciscoSF history but make it whimsical putt-putt, with just enough challenge to spark trash talk. This is date night disguised as “family activity.” I treat every hole like a playoff possession and still lose to friends who only golf once a year.
The DetourArcade barCastro / Upper Market2200 Market Street Suite A, San Francisco, CA 94114San FranciscoNeon, pinball, joystick noise, and adults taking Skeeball way too seriously. When my knees are done with actual sports, I come here to button-mash my competitiveness out. Bring a crew, set a high score, and pretend this counts as hand–eye coordination training.
