Luke Grimes is everywhere in my feed right now thanks to all the chatter about his relationship (or non‑relationship) with Kevin Costner after Yellowstone wrapped, plus his CBS spinoff Marshals staying hot. So obviously my over-caffeinated brain had to turn that into a people chart: the humans who define the Luke Grimes cinematic universe, ranked by a chaotic blend of screen time, vibes, and how often I end up reading about them when I only meant to skim one article on my lunch break.

People in Luke Grimes Orbit — 3 items
Name	Person	Connection to Luke Grimes	Most associated project	Why they matter here	My take
1Kevin Costner	Kevin Costner	Played John Dutton, Kayce’s father, opposite Grimes on Yellowstone	Yellowstone	Their on-screen father–son dynamic is the backbone of the early Yellowstone seasons, and Costner is the silent center of the current "do they still talk?" discourse.	Feels like that distant dad you mostly know through old game tape: insanely important to the story, currently living rent‑free in everyone’s group chats despite not saying much himself.
2Taylor Sheridan	Taylor Sheridan	Co-creator and writer of Yellowstone and Marshals, architect of Kayce Dutton’s whole arc	Yellowstone / Marshals	Sheridan is the guy who keeps handing Grimes generation-defining cowboy angst and then spinning it into new shows when the old ones end.	If TV were pickup ball, Sheridan is the hyper-competitive guy who calls his own plays and somehow always finds Luke open in the corner for the clutch three.
3Kelsey Asbille	Kelsey Asbille	Plays Monica Dutton, Kayce’s wife, sharing most of his grounded, domestic, and heartbreaking storylines	Yellowstone	Their relationship is the emotional core of Kayce’s arc, and every interview about Grimes’ performance eventually circles back to how much it leans on their chemistry.	Together they’re the show’s plus/minus metric: when Kayce and Monica are good, the whole series feels like a contender; when they’re broken, everything tanks.
